About Write On

As tools evolve, creativity flourishes.

Every day at Kindle, we see independent authors using technology to change the face of publishing. We’ve spent years experimenting with ways to let authors make, sell, and distribute their books; in turn, they’re taking control of their work, breaking down barriers, and reaching audiences around the world. From day one, we’ve been committed to delighting readers and bringing them an incredible selection of stories, so there’s nothing more exciting to us than watching authors and readers find innovative ways to connect with one another.

But there’s a whole world of writers out there, and so many untold stories. Amazing ideas scribbled in a notebook. Short stories hidden in drawers. Unbelievable novels taking shape, right now, on someone’s laptop. What exciting, adventurous paths could those stories take if they met their readers earlier?

We’re a small team of word-lovers and writing cheerleaders at Kindle, and we want to learn what that future of writing might look like. This is the start of our exploration. Write On is where people can come together to make good stories great and great stories better. It’s an experiment–and one that needs your input. We hope you’ll come and play with what we’ve built and tell us where you think we should go next. Stories need writers and readers, and this community needs you.
